50 INTERNAL COMMUNICATORS ATTENDED THE FIRST FEIEA ACADEMY IN ROMANIA
For the first time ever in East Europe, international experts from Great Britain, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, the Czech Republic, Slovenia and Portugal talked about social media as internal communication tools at the Internal Social Media Workshop.
Part of FEIEA Academy series, the event took place on 29 March, at Ramada Hotel Bucharest (Romania).

IOIC ANNUAL CONFERENCE
IoIC in the UK is preparing for its 2012 annual conference titled 'Building Peak Performance' which runs from May 23-25 at the Marriot Forest of Arden Hotel near Birmingham.
Working smarter is vital to delivering the best communication for the business of the future.
In an Olympic year, the IoIC is asking delegates ‘Are you in the best possible shape to deliver the high performance that successful organizations crave?’
Double Olympic medallist, rower Steve Williams, will set the scene at the conference by drawing parallels between his achievements and business, giving insights into how communicators can create the right conditions for success.
Delegates will also share insights, take part in interactive sessions and debate, as well as networking.
IOIC AWARDS
This year's IOIC Awards dinner is to be held at the Hilton Park Lane in London on June 15.
The IoIC Awards have been updated to celebrate the kind of work being done every day by IC professionals in the UK. They cover everything from campaigns, innovation, digital media, print media, writing, events and design to individual work as an internal communications ICon.
The aim of the awards is to discover the best work that’s going on in internal communication – and spread the word. There are now 39 awards spread across eight sections and every entry, except the ICons, will receive an individual constructive critique, written by experienced judges, to help entrant to take their work forward.
2012 will see one awards scheme and one awards dinner, which will be the internal communication event of the year.

SPECIALISED WORKSHOPS IN BELGIUM
The Belgian Association for Internal Communication (BVIC/ABCI) regularly offers its members the possibility of participating in specialised workshops relating to the profession of communicator. February’s workshop dealt with public speaking for shy and stressed people. In March we will learn how to manage the mass of information we receive every day, especially by e-mail. In April, we plan a session on social media and professional use of these tools within our companies.
The BVIC/ABCI General Assembly will take place on 15 March.
NEW PRESIDENT, NEW AMBITIONS, NEW GOALS
Members of the Section of internal communicators of the Slovenian Association of Public Relations elected a new executive committee: Mr Nenad Senić, President (Disput, Nenad Senić, s. p.), Mr Branko Janjič (ELES), Ms Marijana Jazbec (Mercator), Ms Edita Krajnovič (Mediade), Ms Tina Lazovič (Futura PR), Ms Urška Ojsteršek (Gorenje), Ms Anja Potočnik (SIJ), and Mrs Stanka Ritonja (Ministry of the Economy). The section will continue to carry out traditional activities and plan some new activities, such as workshops and seminars for employee magazine editors and being an active partner to Let’s Clean Slovenia 2012.
